The Starfish Story A little child was walking along a beach that was covered with thousands of starfish, left by the outgoing tide, to die in the sun. Looking to help, the child
began picking up starfish and tossing them back into the ocean. A person, amused by the childís action called out; "There are too many starfish. You will never make a difference." Discouraged, the child began to walk away. Suddenly, the child turned around, picked up another starfish, and tossed it far back into the sea. Turning to the person, the child smiled and said, "I made a difference to that one!"
